Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the assessment take?
Most assessments take about 60 minutes. This includes reviewing your history, completing standardized screening tools, and discussing your current use and goals.
Can I do the assessment online?
Yes. You can choose telehealth or in‑person in Milaca. Telehealth is fully accepted by courts, probation, and treatment centers.
How soon can I get in?
We offer immediate online scheduling, and most clients are seen within the week — often within a few days.
Will this meet my court or probation requirement?
Yes. Our assessments are accepted by Minnesota courts, probation officers, attorneys, and treatment programs statewide.
Is the provider licensed?
Yes. Your assessment is completed by a fully licensed professional who holds both a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credential and a Mental Health Professional license. This dual licensure means you’re working with someone trained in both substance use and mental health, ensuring a thorough, balanced, and clinically sound evaluation.
What happens during the assessment?
We’ll talk through your history, current use, and any legal or personal concerns. You’ll complete standardized screening tools, and we’ll provide clear, objective recommendations based on your needs.
Will you force me into treatment?
No. Recommendations are neutral and pressure‑free. If treatment is clinically indicated or required by court/probation, we’ll explain why and help you understand your options — without pushing you toward any specific program.
What if I want treatment or support?
If you’re seeking help, we’ll offer warm, supportive guidance and connect you with reputable treatment providers that match your needs, schedule, and comfort level.
How soon will I get my paperwork?
clients receive their written recommendations within 5-7 business days, often sooner.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes — most health insurance plans are accepted. Self‑pay options are also available.
